THIS AMAZING PROGRAM HOSTS CHILDREN FROM 0 TO 6 YEARS OLD THAT WERE REMOVED BY COURT ORDER FROM THEIR HOMES FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND PROTECTION. THE FACILITY CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 9 CHILDREN. IT PROVIDES THESE KIDS WITH A CARING SUPPORT SYSTEM AND HOME WHILE THEY WAIT TO FIND A SAFE, PERMANENT HOME AND LOVING FAMILY. THIS PROGRAM STRIVES TO PROVIDE THESE KIDS WITH ALL THE NEEDED MEDICAL & PSYCHOLOGICAL ATTENTION AS WELL AS A SOLID EDUCATION.

SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES (WE SUPPORT VILLAGES IN SARONNO, ITALY AND OSTUNI, ITALY, AND IN MIAMI, FLORIDA)

SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES – USA IS A 501(C)3 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WITH EIN TAX ID# 13-6188433.

SOS IMPLEMENTS FOSTER CARE IN THEIR VILLAGES TO STRENGTHEN THE SENSE OF FAMILY FOR THESE CHILDREN. FOSTER CARE IS A SERVICE FOR CHILDREN WHO CANNOT LIVE WITH THEIR CUSTODIAL PARENT(S) OR GUARDIAN(S) FOR SOME PERIOD OF TIME. IT IS INCREASINGLY COMMON IN SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES. INTENDED TO BE SHORT-TERM, ITS FOCUS IS ON RETURNING CHILDREN HOME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE OR PROVIDING THEM WITH A PERMANENT ALTERNATIVE. HOWEVER, A FOSTER FAMILY CAN, IN SOME CASES, ALSO OFFER PERMANENT ALTERNATIVE CARE. SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES’ SUPPORT OF FOSTER CARE DIFFERS ACROSS COUNTRIES. IN SOME PLACES, FOSTER PARENTS ARE EMPLOYED BY OUR ORGANIZATION, SUCH AS IS THE CASE IN QWA QWA, SOUTH AFRICA, HOME TO A COMMUNITY-BASED FOSTER CARE PROGRAM. GIVEN THE LARGE NUMBER OF CHILDREN IN RURAL AREAS WHO HAVE LOST FAMILY MEMBERS TO AIDS, IN 2001, SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES, TOGETHER WITH THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, STARTED LOOKING INTO COST-EFFECTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE WAYS TO OFFER MORE CHILDREN A HOME. AS A RESULT, FOUR FOSTER FAMILIES NOW LIVE STRONGLY INTEGRATED IN THE COMMUNITY IN HOUSES CONSTRUCTED IN LINE WITH LOCAL BUILDING AND SERVICE STANDARDS.

Reaching U, A Foundation for Uruguay

HELENA CROCE

WE PROMOTE INITIATIVES AND STRENGTHEN ORGANIZATIONS THAT OFFER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES SO THAT ALL URUGUAYANS LIVING IN POVERTY CAN DEVELOP THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.

FOR OVER A DECADE, WE HAVE BEEN WORKING TO ALLEVIATE THE DIFFICULT SITUATION THAT CHILDREN, TEENAGERS, AND MOTHERS FROM THESE VULNERABLE SECTORS OF THE URUGUAYAN SOCIETY HAVE TO COPE WITH. PRESENTLY, WE ARE FACING A HUGE PROBLEM THAT COULD LEAD TO SEVERE CONSEQUENCES FOR THE FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY.

Home of Hope

Mission: To support vulnerable children and families experiencing various hardships, including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), with a holistic child-centered approach to help them reach their optimal potential in becoming contributing and socially responsible members of society.

Home of Hope runs a cluster foster scheme in Table View, Phoenix and Milnerton. The objective of this project is to ensure that children live in an environment where they can be nurtured holistically to develop their full God-given potential. The foster homes mimic, as close as possible, a family unit with love and caregiving from a foster mother and ‘siblings.’ They provide a stable and solid foundation, giving the child a brighter future and a fair chance of growing up to become a socially responsible member of society – breaking the cycle of abuse. The Home of Hope supports children who have remained in our care long term. They are growing up quickly, and their progress has been remarkable. The development and growth of each child has been inspiring, especially those with special needs. We recognize that if any child is given a stable, loving, supportive family and home environment, they will flourish. We realize what a wonderful opportunity we have to make a difference in the lives of these children who are powerless against their offenders and are unable to provide for themselves. It is not always possible to find individual foster families for each child, coupled with the challenges of the HIV/ aids epidemic facing SA, as well as dealing with children who are affected by FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). The Western Cape is one of the areas with the highest percentage of FASD in the world. We believe the solution to reducing this high incidence of FASD lies in working with the affected families.

Inami Crèche

Started in 2006, Inami Crèche (a Daycare Center in a township outside Durban) provides love, food, shelter, and basic preschool education for roughly 50 infants and kids aged 7 and under – kids who are either orphaned by AIDS and being raised by older siblings, or kids of single impoverished mothers – many of whom are young school girls. This special place allows mothers and older siblings to go to school or work – whilst keeping the young kids safe, fed, warm, and safe from harm.

Great Hague Accredited Adoption Agencies

Gladney Center for Adoption

**If you are interested in International Adoption, my family can personally recommend Gladney. We adopted our youngest daughter, Catalina, from a Colombian orphanage with the great help of Gladney. They were amazing shepherds throughout the entire process!**

Gladney’s International Adoption Programs have successfully placed thousands of babies and young children in homes throughout the United States. These programs offer adoption opportunities in Eastern European, African, Asian, and Latin American countries. Not only does adopt internationally assist families in achieving their dream of parenthood, but it also fulfills the dream of children in orphanages and foster homes who await the love of a family. Find out more by viewing a free Webinar on International Adoption.

Gladney has created several international adoption programs that provide adoptive families with opportunities to design their own adoption:

Hague Accreditation

As a leader in intercountry adoption, the Gladney Center proudly became among the first agencies accredited in the U.S. as a Hague-compliant adoption agency. The Hague Convention protects children and their families against the risk of unregulated adoptions abroad and ensures that intercountry adoptions are made in the best interests of the children. The Convention also protects against unethical, unlawful and inhumane adoption practices.

Adopting internationally is an exciting, enriching experience that offers the opportunity to learn foreign cultures and customs and the ability to assist in humanitarian aid efforts.

Advantages of adopting internationally include the option to:

  • Adopt Through a Closed Adoption System
  • Adopt Within a Specific Time
  • Select the Age and Gender of the Child
  • Adopt Later in Life
  • Select a Particular Country or Culture
  • Provide Humanitarian Aid

Whether children are here in the United States or in a foreign land, the Gladney Center for Adoption remains unwavering in its commitment to create bright futures through adoption. Gladney needs families who can secure these futures for the many children who are referred to its International Adoption Programs.
